Craig M. Goldwasser
Founder and Managing Partner
Craig M. Goldwasser is a founder and the Managing Partner of Goldwasser & Chan, LLP. Mr. Goldwasser has over a decade of experience handling a wide variety of complex and high exposure legal matters. He has practiced in all areas of personal injury and medical malpractice law including general liability, premises liability, dram shop liability, pharmaceutical malpractice, and automobile liability matters from inception through trial in the New York tri-state area. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, including high-profile restaurants and bars as well as physicians, nurses, pharmacies and medical facilities.
Prior to forming Goldwasser & Chan, LLP, Mr. Goldwasser was a Partner at a prestigious general liability/personal injury firm where he handled complex civil litigation matters with multi-million dollar exposure. Prior to that time, he was Senior Litigation Counsel for a large medical malpractice/general liability firm. Mr. Goldwasser was also previously a trial attorney at a plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice firm where he successfully tried several cases. Mr. Goldwasser's dual background working both for the plaintiff and the defense gives Goldwasser & Chan, LLP a significant advantage in litigation.
Since 2015, Mr. Goldwasser has annually been named by Super Lawyers as a New York “Rising Star” in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice, an honor awarded to the top 2.5% of lawyers under the age of 40 in New York. He has also been annually named as a Top Young Attorney by Westchester Magazine since 2018. In 2023 and 2024, Mr. Goldwasser was named a Top Lawyer by Hudson Valley Magazine in honor of his contributions to the practice of law and to his community.
Mr. Goldwasser earned a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University in 2008 and a J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School in 2011.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, State of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.
Andrew Chan
Founder and General Counsel
Andrew C. Chan is a founder and the General Counsel of Goldwasser & Chan, LLP. He has represented clients in a diversity of matters, including catastrophic personal injury litigation, real estate litigation, complex business disputes, contract preparation, and corporate acquisitions. He also has expertise litigating tractor trailer crashes, with experience handling complex motor carrier issues and navigating byzantine corporate structures. He has developed a track record of successful outcomes for clients, both at the trial court level and the appellate division.
He achieved his B.S. in Economics from Boston College in 2005, and worked in management for an overseas manufacturing corporation before attending Brooklyn Law School and earning a J.D. in 2009. He joined a plaintiff’s litigation practice from 2009 to 2011, representing clients in both personal injury and commercial litigation in the New York tri-state area. He transitioned to insurance defense in 2011 and then medical malpractice defense in 2013. In 2014, he returned to plaintiffs’ practice by joining Grant and Longworth, LLP as Of Counsel while simultaneously operating his own general civil litigation practice.
He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys (ATAA), New York State Bar Association, and New York City Bar Association.
